{"id":1321,"date":"2021-05-30T20:57:06","date_gmt":"2021-05-30T20:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wizardly-payne.18-203-29-157.plesk.page\/1837-2\/"},"modified":"2021-08-19T18:11:18","modified_gmt":"2021-08-19T18:11:18","slug":"1837-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/haciendazorita.com\/en\/1837-2\/","title":{"rendered":"1837"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"text-center\">\n<h2>1837<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Don Antonio de Sol\u00eds and the Expropriation of Mendiz\u00e1bal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In 1837, as a consequence of the Expropriation of Mendizabal, the Dominican Order was forced to sell Hacienda Zorita, which was then divided into three parts:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2013 Farmstead of Zorita, sold to Don Francisco S\u00e1nchez for 180,000 reales<br \/>\n\u2013 Reserve Redondo de Valcuevo, acquired by Don Antonio de Sol\u00eds for 243,769 reales<br \/>\n\u2013 Land of the Torre de Perales, purchased by Don Jer\u00f3nimo Lorenzo for 510,170 reales<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Shortly thereafter, the Sol\u00eds family reunited Hacienda Zorita, returning it to its historical configuration. Taking advantage of the Tormes River, Tom\u00e1s de Sol\u00eds turned Zorita into one of the most important flour mills in Spain, until it was devastated by a fire in 1950, falling into disuse and later into ruin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1837 Don Antonio de Sol\u00eds and the Expropriation of Mendiz\u00e1bal &nbsp;
