THIS IS SALAMANCA, THE VERY CORE OF THE DUERO VALLEY
Some might say this is possibly one of the most overwhelming places in the whole wide world. Here our bucolic valley mingles with the largest wine river to be found in Europe: The Duero. We drink from it while being a few minutes short from Salamanca’s imperious Main Square.
Not in vain, this lively and cultural city finds pride in being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It gives shelter to 35,000 students and a limitless amount of monumental jewels in the form of palaces, cathedrals, churches, museums, restaurants and many other breathtaking pieces of art. Salamanca is also home to the third most ancient university in Europe, hand-to-hand with Oxford and Bologna.
BACK TO THE FUTURE
History is undoubtedly the key ornamental motif in our unique 40 rooms and villas. Indoors, however, they depict a contemporary touch in what we came to call Classic Nouveau: a perfect blend between the classic and modern world masterfully kept within these walls.
A DOMINICAN ESTATE FROM THE 14TH CENTURY
First founded 1366, Hacienda Zorita was originally a former hospice house and home to the Dominican Order. Over a decade now our prime aim has always been to put all our time and effort to endow this magical place with its ancient glory. The endeavor paid off: Hacienda Zorita shines today as much as it did 700 years ago.
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS STAYED HERE AS A GUEST
He came here demanding the funds needed to make his dream possible: sail his way to the Indians. The rest is history. His soul is still alive. Just like him, we find passion in making dreams come true.
FAMILY OF WINES
Are you a wine lover? You should know Hacienda Zorita stands as the gateway to the Land of Wine and Bread. Our vineyards have been growing here since 1366.
We are what we eat!
